Surfside

Two weeks ago we got to visit our awesome family at the beach. Ben loved playing with his cousin, Maddie. He especially loved showing her how he could pee and poo on the big boy potty. She gave him plenty of encouragement (holding his hand) and praise (dancing for him) after he went. She even flushed the toilet and gave him toilet paper. That is real love. We all got to meet Maddie's little brother Max for the first time. He is the cutest little ball of baby I ever saw. I almost squeezed him to pieces. I love him so much. He has the best smile and the cutest rolls. Ben and Pete had a blast trying to kill themselves in the ocean. It is lovely to see your 1 and 1/2 year old riding waves with his Dad. I'm serious the boy can swim. I think he is part fish. Well mostly fish and half way crazy. I blame it all on Pete. I have a healthy fear of water. They apparently missed the fear gene and the gene that endows common sense. However, God I believe loves them a lot and is not done with either one yet. So praise Jesus for his mighty grace and love. And praise the Lord for needed vacations with family you love.

Havingbabyit'saboy!

It's a BOY! We are super excited about our new bundle of joy (or bundle of mayhem in Ben's case). I was supposed to wait until my next OB visit on Wednesday...but I couldn't. So Nina, my amazing friend got roped into doing an ultrasound on her lunch break. I must say this kid is not shy at all. He rolled right over and showed us the goods. He was happy and healthy and kicking me as usual. He seems a lot calmer than Ben so far. Maybe God gave us a sleeper. If not the boys can just get locked in their room together until dawn. I am looking forward to camping trips, wrestling matches in the living room, stinky socks, and all my doors being opened for the rest of my life. I love being a boy mom. Ben and Pete really need another friend. Now I have no desire to get new furniture until they graduate high school. All the glass is coming out of my picture frames post hast. And my only request at the baby shower is a spa day:) Bring on the testosterone!
